People ask. . . “Well, What distinguishes A & M Berk from many other firms?” At A & M Berk, we feel that having your taxes prepared shouldn’t feel like a burden or an unpleasant experience. You shouldn’t feel as though you’re just another client being processed in a production line. Our offices provide true professional service within a family atmosphere. We believe each client should walk out with the experience of being educated about their tax status and treated with courtesy and respect. With that philosophy, a vast majority of our clients are referred to us by long time satisfied customers. Because many of our tax preparers have been with the firm for many years, many clients have come to trust and asked for us by first name. That long relationship gives our preparers intimate knowledge of the tax issues clients faced over the years and adjust as their situation changes. Some of our clients are third generation clients and remember coming to our offices when they were children. Our clients are from every walk of life and every income level: from people just starting a career, starting a corporation, buying a first home, to retirees, or people changing jobs. Each client should receive premium services without the premium prices.
Although our fees are significantly lower than most CPA firms, our tax professionals can prepare the most complex individual and small business tax returns, accurately and professionally. Our full-time staff prepares returns throughout the year. We attend IRS continuing education seminars each year and provide tax planning year round At A & M Berk, our part-time tax preparers are hired on internships or co-ops from many of Philadelphia’s finest colleges and universities. They come in with an understanding and passion for accounting and finance. Nationally advertised firms hire individuals with little training and no educational background in accounting or finance. Many of their preparers are only taught the basics of income tax return preparation and take the job with them on a part-time seasonal basis as a second job.
